DEAD FIVE LAUNCHES INTO HYPERCASUAL MOBILE GAMES SPACE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mobile game developer Dead Five has opened its doors with ambitions to bring deeper engagement and a little artistic flourish to the hypercasual sector, with debut title Light The Fires due for release on iOS and Android devices in Q1 2021.

Dead Five is founded by industry veteran Chris Kempt, alongside Max Heide, Kit Wallis and Chris Rimington – a team that has worked together for over a decade on franchises such as Red Bull’s Kart Fighter series and Adult Swim’s Amateur Surgeon 4.

The first fruits of the UK-based studio’s labour, Light The Fires, is scheduled for release in early-2021. The game, which is currently being beta tested in local markets, seeks to take the best of hypercasual and blend it with great artwork and a deeper, more engaging meta-game system than would be normal for a title of this type. The result is something quite new and has been referred to as ‘hybrid-casual’.

In addition to Light The Fires, Dead Five have a large number of other titles in development, three of which are approaching beta – they expect to release all four of these games over the next six months.

“We founded Dead Five off the back of one simple thought: ‘we like hypercasual games, but it would be nice if they were prettier… and maybe a bit more fun’,” said Dead Five Founder Chris Kempt. “We hope we’ve achieved that with Light The Fires, and we’re excited to reveal more details about the other titles we’re working on over the next few months.”
